SPECIAL EVENTS

All of the art forms are distinctive and call forth different ways of knowing oneself.

Through an array of special events, Kentucky Theater Project provides opportunities for people to come together to celebrate life.

Cultural celebrations honor the art, stories, and customs of people and their traditions while raising awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage.

Street performances bring artists and audiences face-to-face informally to explore social issues through participatory dialogue and improvisation.

Artist receptions in the exhibit gallery at the Kentucky Theater provide a relaxed way for artists to introduce their work to the public and get to know new arts appreciators.

Free lunch concerts vitalize downtown and encourage people to stop and sit for a while to enjoy live music in the company of neighbors.

Taking advantage of the beautiful backdrop of Theater Square, Kentucky Theater Project hosts an annual Earth Day festival, Mardi Gras celebration, Freethinker’s Ball, and New Year’s Eve bash, where people of all ages from across all neighborhood boundaries gather for creative expression.
