STUDENT MATINEE PROGRAM

Across Kentucky, educators utilize the programs and services of local arts organizations to enhance arts experiences for their students.

Educational studies show that the arts are a vital component of a student’s education. Students with experience in the arts score better on standardized tests, have enhanced reading, writing, and math skills, display more original thinking, imagination, engagement and persistence, and have higher self-esteem.

The Student Matinee Program links theater and artists’ visits to classroom studies and enables the arts to become a continuing part of the educational and community experiences of all children and youth.
